FACTORY CREEK
This home remodeling project by Allen Patterson Builders also involved a major addition to the existing home. The existing home was connected to the addition which included a new Kitchen, Family room, fireplace, playroom and deck. The new addition also embraced the back yard that over looked the water with 10 foot folding glass doors. The existing house was modernized to match the new addition and insure the Lowcountry Lifestyle was present throughout. A final touch of the proper landscaping made this entire remodeling project seem like a whole new house.
BEAUFORT
This home remodeling project involved the expertise of Allen Patterson Builders to use existing space and salvaging original beams to maintain the classic unique feel throughout. The basement floors were ground to level the five different height along with repairing the brick foundation. Hallways and doors were expanded to make the house more spacious and handicap accessible. An additional room was added to create separate newly remodel kitchen and laundry room. These renovations fashioned a flow through the house with natural light engulfing the interior.
HARBOR ISLAND
This Allen Patterson Builders remodeling project was a complete transformation of a tired 1970’s beach condo. The entire 2 bedroom condo was stripped to the shell. Doors and windows were removed and replaced. Ceilings were scraped, all flooring was removed and the walls were reconfigured. The kitchen was opened up by removing the existing walls. The cabinet components were shipped to Allen Patterson Builders from IKEA, assembled and installed with a Zodiaq countertop, new appliances and a stainless hood completing the kitchen. This transformed the condo into a fresh spectacular beachfront vacation home. It also earned Allen Patterson the prestigious Light House Award from the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association.
CAT ISLAND
This house was orginally built in 1989. It was purchased in 2012 by a couple that loved the location overlooking the Beaufort River and the Atlantic Ocean. To meet the wish of the new owners, Allen Patterson Builders reconfigured the house to include structural reinforcement, complete electrical rewiring, all new plumbing, new master bedroom, custom kitchen and cabinets. In addition, Allen Patterson Builders customized a unique free standing fireplace along with installing retractable glass door on the entire water side of the house. All this allow the remodel house to maintain the Lowcountry styling, yet have the convinces of new house while meeting the wishes of the owners to embrace the view of the water from almost everywhere in the house.
HOOVER PLANTATION
EXCERPT FROM VERANDA MAGAZINE (NOV/DEC 2019) about this Allen Patterson Builders remodeling project (in conjunction with Andrew Howard Interior Design):
“A few quirks, namely that there was only one bedroom — a large master on the second floor — were easily remedied with the help of architecture firm Cronk Duch, who converted two four-car garages flanking the pool into comfortable quarters for the Woodalls’ college-age son and teenage daughter and a separate guest cottage for extended family at the holidays and/or woodsmen house parties, complete with a bar and sitting room.”
